 TP&C Line Design

The  (SC) covers all mechanical, thermal, construction, and economic aspects of overhead transmission lines.

Working groups under this SC the following subjects:

  • wind-induced conductor motions

  • corona & field effects

  • sag-tension calculations and measurements

  • structure loading calculations

  • conductor & connector design and evaluation

  • compact & economic line design

  • voltage and thermal line uprating

  • annealing and creep elongation of conductor

  • high temperature, low-sag conductors

  • dynamic and static thermal line ratings

  • inspection, maintenance and asset management

  • insulator design & selection
